Hey there!
Hopefully, I will be able to set the stage for what’s to come as I document my journey on the road to financial independence. My goal is to highlight ideas and techniques that others have used to successfully get off the hamster wheel and reach financial freedom, as well as share stories about my journey and the things I’ve learned along the way.
Some of these ideas will fit into your life and mine, and some just won’t, and that’s okay! Everyone has a unique life situation, everyone is at a different stage in their life, and everyone values different things, so there is no right or wrong when it comes to your own financial independence journey.
When I started to dive deep into this life optimization strategy, I realized quickly that you don’t know what you don’t know and that it’s never too late to start down this path. Surround yourself with good content (hopefully some of which is found here) and pick and choose what works for you and then most importantly, TAKE ACTION!

Financial independence is a movement. It’s a group of folks that have come to the realization that life is not about working a job every day from 8 to 5, for 40 or 50 years, only to then live out the “golden years” or the remaining years of your life, finally doing what you want with your time. The golden years are right now! This very moment that you’re reading this blog post, this is the time of your life!
Understand that most of us trade our time and life energy for money because most of us have to, but can you imagine the moment when you can choose where you want to spend your time and life energy because
Think about your past week, your past month, your past year, your past decade. Are you thrilled about what you did with that time? What do you have to show for it? Odds are there some great memories and some amazing things happened in our lives but there are also probably some things we wish we did a little better, and the sad reality is, we’ll never get that time back. Here’s the deal – your time on this planet is your most valuable resource. It is the most finite thing we have as humans; thus, it’s incredibly valuable! Now think, what have you been trading your time and life energy for? Does it align with what you believe in? Does it align with what you envision your life to be?
Financial independence puts us in a great position to work on things that truly matter to us, things that we genuinely want to do with our time. It doesn’t matter where you’re at when you start, just start!
At this point you may be thinking, “this guy is nuts, that’ll never happen for me”, or you’re simply asking yourself, “how on earth am I supposed to do that?! I have student loans, credit debt, a mortgage, daycare, etc. and I’m not making that much money, I live paycheck to paycheck.” This is all about changing your mindset and living a more intentional life. Everyone can reach financial independence no matter where you start, the key is taking action. It doesn’t happen overnight, but you’ll find information and actionable tips here that’ll help you improve your life and get you to the day where you get to take your time back!
